Devit was nervous. It was clear in the quick glances he aimed at Shito, his stiff step, and the way he clutched the strap of the black messenger bag he'd slung over his shoulder like it was a lifeline. He'd done is best to pretend like nothing was different or special about this, despite the fact that he'd even dressed nice. (Well, nice by his standards, anyway, which included black PVC pants that were slashed at the thighs and a dark, gray, zip-up vest.) He'd almost managed to convince himself before they left the dorms, in fact, but the longer they walked, the more his confidence dropped, it seemed.
What the hell did he know about dating, anyway? Nothing at all! Sure, they'd gone to the movies a few times--an option Devit would have happily gone with, if he'd had any money--but this was different, as much as he tried to pretend otherwise. This was him trying to do something nice for Shito, maybe even impress him a little with how thoughtful and creative he could be. This was him trying to be that... 'r' word.
Romantic.
Ugh, even thinking about it made him cringe and shudder. What the fuck had put such a dumb, harebrained thought into his head? Being sleep-deprived and lonely and watching black and white films at four in the morning? Ugh...
This was stupid. He was stupid and not nearly as creative without Jasdero, and Shito would surely realize it and laugh at him and--fuck it. This was going to be a fucking disaster.
Unfortunately, it was a bit too late to turn back, as they fast approached their destination. After a few more moments, Devit stopped and gestured ahead of them.
"Well... We're here!" he announced. Apparently, 'here' was a large park that featured an expanse of trees, the leaves of which had only recently changed to autumn shades of gold and red.
Devit cast a sidelong glance at Shito, waiting for his reaction.

For the past couple days, Devit had done his best to pretend like nothing had happened, but anybody with eyes could probably tell he sucked at it--quite miserably, in fact. It didn't stop him from carrying on, though. As long as nobody called him on it, he was content to let himself believe that everything really was okay, and--as anybody who'd known for more than five minutes probably knew--he was quite the expert at lying to himself.
So, as if without a worry, he made his way to Shito's room, ignoring the fact that he hesiated a few seconds at the door, and then entered without knocking.
"Yo."

It'd been the worst week that Devit had had in a... Well, actually, it had been one bad week in a series of several bad weeks he'd been having for the past two months, but this definitely ranked up in the top three worst of them. Between Shito disappearing and being left alone in the dorm, he didn't know what to do with himself anymore; there were only so many places he could check and double-check, after all, especially when that video post had made clear that everyone was stuck in a school that apparently didn't exist or something. To top it off, he still hadn't been sleeping well, so he wasn't in a particularly good state of mind. In fact, he was kind of depressed.
Today was no different, unfortunately. There hadn't been any word since that post, and now those dumbass scientists were affected by some stupid virus. He was on his own again.
He sat in Shito's bed, leaning against the headboard and hugging Shito's pillow. It was a pathetic sight, but he couldn't give a fuck less. He stayed that way for some time, not making a move until he heard what sounded like people talking somewhere else in the dorm.
Unsure if it was his imagination (hey, it'd happened a few times already), he frowned and listened carefully.

The bedroom certainly wasn't one of the finest the ship had to offer, but at least it had the most basic amenities. There was a bathroom, after all (never mind that the door was partially off its hinges and the sink was perpetually leaking); two, cozy beds that occupied either side of the room (the cleanliness of which were questionable at best); a nightstand between the beds which housed a Bible and a safety pamphlet (in the event that the boat should sink); and a single, flickering light overhead.
It was the light that eventually roused Devit from the first decent amount of sleep he'd gotten in days. Blinking his eyes, he found himself face to face with a wall that he was certain wasn't supposed to be there, even in his groggy haze, and he spent several moments frowning at his shadow as it blinked in and out of view with each flicker of the light, until it occurred to him that he might not be at Tyki's place. His gaze traveled down to the blanket covering him; it was lumpy and dusty-looking and a little itchy against his skin, nothing like the nice linens that Alice always kept clean back on the island.
Definitely not Tyki's place.
With a start, Devit struggled to untangle himself from the blanket and then shot up in bed, glancing around warily.

Just sticking this here, because it was on Shito's contact post, and I want to be able to file it in my memories as an RL. :T DON'T ASK, I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING IN MY HEAD, OKAY.

May. 22nd, 2010 09:08 pmAt the most, it was maybe five minutes after their conversation that a giant, glowing doorway opened up right in Shito's room. Devit emerged a few seconds later, alone, miserable-looking, and hugging himself like his life depended on it. He stopped about a foot inside and glanced around awkwardly.
"So, uh. I'm here?"

Apr. 15th, 2010 01:49 pmDevit wasn't much of a planner (nor was he much of a thinker in general, really), so when he found himself standing outside what he hoped was Shito's door, he wondered what the hell he was doing there.
Jasdero wasn't too far away, of course. Not ones for subtlety, they opened a door in the middle of a hallway, and it stood for anyone to see in all of its conspicuous glory, with just-as-conspicuous Jasdero keeping watch over it. He waved when Devit glanced at him, and Devit stuck his tongue out in response before turning back to the door.
Maybe he and the zombie could trash talk the douchebags they hated on the community or something. That was as good a reason to come as any, right?
With the barrel of his gun, he knocked on the door.
((OOC: Backdated to... idk, two weeks ago. Jasdero NPCed with permission! /o/))

Very funny, zombie! You must think you're so clever, telling us to meet you somewhere and then running off! You probably thought we'd wait there all night so you could show up and have a good laugh. Well, joke's on you, 'cause we have better things to do!
And this just makes you boring and stupid, by the way.
((OOC: Backdated to late last night. o/ ...and obviously before this post, which I did not see until just now. 8D; I HOPE THIS IS OKAY. LET ME KNOW IF IT ISN'T.))
