The bedroom certainly wasn't one of the finest the ship had to offer, but at least it had the most basic amenities. There was a bathroom, after all (never mind that the door was partially off its hinges and the sink was perpetually leaking); two, cozy beds that occupied either side of the room (the cleanliness of which were questionable at best); a nightstand between the beds which housed a Bible and a safety pamphlet (in the event that the boat should sink); and a single, flickering light overhead.

It was the light that eventually roused Devit from the first decent amount of sleep he'd gotten in days. Blinking his eyes, he found himself face to face with a wall that he was certain wasn't supposed to be there, even in his groggy haze, and he spent several moments frowning at his shadow as it blinked in and out of view with each flicker of the light, until it occurred to him that he might not be at Tyki's place. His gaze traveled down to the blanket covering him; it was lumpy and dusty-looking and a little itchy against his skin, nothing like the nice linens that Alice always kept clean back on the island.

Definitely not Tyki's place.

With a start, Devit struggled to untangle himself from the blanket and then shot up in bed, glancing around warily.
