[RL: Devit; Shito | Backdated to yesterday, I think]

It'd been the worst week that Devit had had in a... Well, actually, it had been one bad week in a series of several bad weeks he'd been having for the past two months, but this definitely ranked up in the top three worst of them. Between Shito disappearing and being left alone in the dorm, he didn't know what to do with himself anymore; there were only so many places he could check and double-check, after all, especially when that video post had made clear that everyone was stuck in a school that apparently didn't exist or something. To top it off, he still hadn't been sleeping well, so he wasn't in a particularly good state of mind. In fact, he was kind of depressed.

Today was no different, unfortunately. There hadn't been any word since that post, and now those dumbass scientists were affected by some stupid virus. He was on his own again.

He sat in Shito's bed, leaning against the headboard and hugging Shito's pillow. It was a pathetic sight, but he couldn't give a fuck less. He stayed that way for some time, not making a move until he heard what sounded like people talking somewhere else in the dorm.

Unsure if it was his imagination (hey, it'd happened a few times already), he frowned and listened carefully.

Shito noticed the 'we' and was encouraged by it. Maybe that meant that Devit was starting to feel more stable.

"Well, that's fine then," he said. "If you don't have anything to pack, then don't." He shifted to untangle himself, intending to move to his computer. "Let me book the plane tickets. It won't take long."
halfthetrouble: (eh?)

[personal profile] halfthetrouble 2010-09-29 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Devit nodded and finally let go, but he still stayed close by.

"Hey, what about the money you guys owe by the end of the month? How's that gonna fit into all this?"

[identity profile] tiedbyfate.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
"That's the thing," Shito said, his voice tightening. He sat down at his computer and began to laboriously attempt to figure out how to purchase airline tickets online. "When we escaped from the school, we discovered that the money was paid off by Bekko. He just...ended it, somehow, after all that. The Ferrymen are fucking with us. That's why we decided to leave."
halfthetrouble: (i think i need glasses)

[personal profile] halfthetrouble 2010-09-29 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
Devit leaned on the back of Shito's chair, looking over the other boy's shoulder.

"Just like that?" He frowned. "So what, was it like some kind of stupid test or something? What about those guys you were up against?"

[identity profile] tiedbyfate.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
"I do think it was a stupid test. And as for A-Loan, I don't know. They left," Shito said. One of them had gone mad and disappeared, but the other two had gotten out okay. "So far as I know, it was all bullshit from beginning to end."
halfthetrouble: (those shoes do not go with that top)

[personal profile] halfthetrouble 2010-09-29 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
Devit's hands curled into fists. "You think he set you up?" he asked. "That Bekko guy, I mean. You think he knew what was gonna happen all along?"

[identity profile] tiedbyfate.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"At this point, I don't know what to think," Shito said coldly. "All I really know is, he's not being straight with us, and we can't trust him."
halfthetrouble: (mine's bigger)

[personal profile] halfthetrouble 2010-09-29 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Devit made a quiet, angry noise and rested his chin on top of Shito's head. If that guy was responsible for Shito disappearing and putting Devit through a week of hell, he was going to fucking pay for it somehow. Devit would make sure of it.

[identity profile] tiedbyfate.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Shito smiled faintly, navigating through the screens and poking at hyperlinks somewhat haphazardly. Maybe Chika should have done this part.
halfthetrouble: (eh?)

[personal profile] halfthetrouble 2010-09-29 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
While making a mental list of just how he could make Bekko pay, Devit distractedly watched Shito clicking at links. Shouldn't he have gotten the tickets by now?

"What are you doing?"

[identity profile] tiedbyfate.livejournal.com 2010-09-30 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
Shito glared at the screen. "What are 'air miles'?" he demanded. "Isn't that how far I'm going? I don't know how far it is to Hong Kong from here, and I'm having trouble figuring it out! Even when I put in the number, it doesn't seem to think that's right!"
halfthetrouble: (hmmmm)

[personal profile] halfthetrouble 2010-09-30 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Devit frowned and looked at the screen. He'd never been on a plane before, much less ever booked a flight. You'd think the people selling the tickets would know how far it was from one airport to the next, though. Geez...

"Did you try looking at a map?"

[identity profile] tiedbyfate.livejournal.com 2010-09-30 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course I did!" Shito exclaimed, glaring at the various screens he'd opened. "This is so stupid. Why is it so hard to book a flight? People do it every day."

He didn't really want to ask Chika to do it - that would involve admitting that he had failed at something that was clearly very simple. But he wasn't sure what else to do.
halfthetrouble: (hmmmm)

[personal profile] halfthetrouble 2010-09-30 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Why don't you just Google it?" Devit asked, leaning forward to grab for the mouse. "That's what I do when I don't know something. ...Not that it happens a lot."

[identity profile] tiedbyfate.livejournal.com 2010-09-30 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
"Why don't I what?" Shito stared incredulously up at Devit. Googling? It sounded dirty. He relinquished the mouse to the other boy in confusion. How did Devit know more about computers than he did?
halfthetrouble: (any way you want it)

[personal profile] halfthetrouble 2010-09-30 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
"Google it!" He opened yet another browser window on Shito's computer and then reached around the other boy to type in the address bar. "You know, the internet search thing?" Yeesh, hadn't Shito been living in this century long enough to pick up on this stuff?

He then typed 'how to buy plane tickets' into the search field, hit enter, and then leaned back as dozens of results came up. "There, try one of those."

[identity profile] tiedbyfate.livejournal.com 2010-09-30 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
With a doubtful frown, Shito clicked on the first link. He blinked as he read, amazed by the amount of information. "Oh," he said as he started reading. "Air miles... That's not what I thought."

Wow, Googling was really useful. Why hadn't anyone ever showed him this?
halfthetrouble: (are you fucking retarded)

[personal profile] halfthetrouble 2010-09-30 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
"Kind of a retarded name," Devit said, reading over his shoulder. "But whatever. You don't have any, right?"

[identity profile] tiedbyfate.livejournal.com 2010-09-30 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
"No, I don't think so," Shito said, flipping back to the first screen and poking at the options to get past the air miles screen. After that it was a fairly simple procedure to purchase three tickets for the following afternoon.

He sat back, pleased. See! He could do computer things, too! And now that he knew about Googling, he'd never have to humiliate himself in front of Yuuta and Akatsuki again.

"There we go," he said smugly. "We'll fly out tomorrow."
halfthetrouble: (i am an expert on this subject)

[personal profile] halfthetrouble 2010-09-30 06:33 am (UTC)(link)
"You're welcome," Devit said sarcastically, but there was an obvious hint of teasing in his voice. He seriously didn't get how Shito couldn't know this stuff already.

[identity profile] tiedbyfate.livejournal.com 2010-09-30 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
Shito looked up at him for a moment, then pushed away from his desk and stood. "Thank you," he said. And impulsively, he leaned forward to give Devit a kiss.
halfthetrouble: (happiness is a gun to your face)

[personal profile] halfthetrouble 2010-09-30 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
The kiss caught Devit off guard, but he welcomed it, all but beaming as he eagerly leaned into it.

This was good. Not perfect, of course, but having Shito back lifted his spirits considerably. Maybe things would be okay for a while.

[identity profile] tiedbyfate.livejournal.com 2010-09-30 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Though Shito didn't like to think about it too much, having Devit around was lifting his spirits, too. In particular, the other boy's pleasure at having him back and obvious worry about him, made him feel wanted in a way he had never been.

He smiled genuinely as the kiss ended. Yes, maybe things would be okay for a while.
